Sunset
Finding solace in the soft light of a chapter's end
The Artwork
A visual meditation on the beauty of completion and the relief of letting go. "Sunset" captures the moment the horizon exhales in violet and gold. Each coil is a record of release, a tactile expression of being grateful that the day is done. It is an invitation to rest, to honor the lives and stories you’ve touched, and to trust that the night is not an absence of light, but a canvas for the next stars to appear.
Medium: Fiber: yarns, rope, wool felting, chicken wire, white wooden frame
Dimensions: 36" x 14" x 3"

Yarns About Life - Sunset
Sunsetting - Letting Go
We often treat endings with hesitation, yet the sky reminds us every evening that there is a quiet beauty in the letting go. This work was born from a personal “sunsetting”—stepping out of a long leadership career and into a new, more creative way of being. These fibers are knotted with gratitude, honoring the quiet grace of a career well-lived and the soft surrender required to welcome the stillness of what comes next.
Sunset Yarns About Life are a five‑part story series about my final leadership sunset and the people who shaped it.
On the Yarns About Life Page - select Sunset in the Main Index then start with the story that tugs at you most and follow the yarn.
